Berry-Saffron Chia Bowl: A Recipe for Self-Love

This berry-saffron chia bowl is my go-to when I want something that’s creamy, fiber-rich, and packed with healthy fats and protein. It’s simple, but every bite feels intentional—like a small act of self-care.

The combination of saffron, berries, and almond butter brings together hormone-balancing properties, antioxidants, and a touch of natural sweetness. The best part? It’s easy to meal-prep and works just as well for busy mornings as it does for a slow, mindful breakfast.

Berry-Saffron Chia Bowl Recipe

(Makes 1 serving)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp oats

  • 1 tbsp flax meal

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (90g)

  • 1 scoop protein powder (unflavored preferred)

  • 1 tsp maple syrup/honey

  • A few saffron strands

Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • ½ cup berries (strawberries, blueberries)

  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

  • Pinch of sea salt

Method:

  1. In a bowl, mix the protein powder with Greek yogurt until smooth.

  2. Stir in chia seeds, oats, and a little water to loosen the mixture.

  3. Add saffron strands and flax meal, then chop some strawberries and fold them in.

  4. Let the mixture set in the fridge for at least 20-30 minutes (or overnight for meal prep!).

  5. Before serving, top with almond butter, extra berries, a pinch of sea salt, and cinnamon.
